My pottery is a constant journey between the West and the East in my imagination.

​

Where, from organic and traditional forms, the pieces are born from the rock glazed by fire. Looking for a perfect symbiosis between the ancient techniques of working with clay and a contemporary sculptural interpretation, where stoneware paste and porcelain are always present, which sometimes combine with other materials such as wood and metal.

In 1988 I started my training at the CENCAL ceramic school, in Caldas da Rainha, the city that saw me born. City known as one of the main Portuguese ceramic centers, whose ceramic tradition is lost in the past.

 

My journey in the world of ceramics continues to be an incessant search for the balance of shapes and colors in my pieces.
